Grantee Resources - Training By Request
MRC "Trainings by Request" are available to groups of at least 20 but no more than 100 people at one time. This is a wonderful opportunity to network with other mentoring agencies and programs in your area. The MRC will assist you throughout the process. If you are a U.S. Department of Education mentoring grantee and would like to schedule a Training By Request, please contact Kari Heard at 916.983.6680 or by email at kari@emt.org.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION: This hands-on workshop is designed to help you refine and expand your recruitment efforts. The title of the training comes from the philosophy that by highlighting your organization's strengths and appealing to the deepest needs and motivations of volunteers, you can create a successful recruitment approach.
The day will begin with a discussion of your greatest recruitment challenges and will include the top recruitment best practices. We will review the research on segment specific recruitment tactics and tips with an emphasis on recruiting male volunteers. Findings from a recent male focus group in Arizona will be shared. There are many lessons to be learned from this research.
Finally, we will end the day by creating specific messages geared to each target audience and will guide you through a real life recruitment “ask.”.
We hope the training will help further your mentor recruitment efforts.
