Grantee Resources - Technical Assistance Services
Click here to go directly to the online Technical Assistance Application
Perhaps the most valuable service that the MRC provides to ED grantees is the provision of in-depth technical assistance. Technical assistance is the process by which we help you build a stronger program. It can involve offering you quick advice and practical solutions as you work through a problem, supplying more indepth research and resources that can strengthen your services, the creation of networking and learning opportunities, or even face-to-face consultation and training.
No matter what the methods, the MRC's technical assistance services are about establishing a relationship with you and your program staff. Over the course of your grant we hope you will come to see the MRC staff as a trusted partner in your efforts, one that you can turn to for guidance and information.
What does this "Technical Assistance" cover?
As mentioned above, technical assistance can take many forms: training, resource dissemination, consultation, etc. We are available to help in just about any area of program development, including: mentor recruitment, participant training, development of policies and procedures, sustainability planning, program evaluation, and customizing services to meet the GPRA requirements of your grant. We are even available to do an on-site "Training By Request" that will provide your program and others in your community with hands-on training. About the only things that "technical assistance" does not cover, are things related to the management of your grant, such as finances or formal changes in your contractual obligations. Those types of things are handled by your ED Program Officer.
Is there a cost?
No. The technical assistance services of the MRC are provided free of cost to you thanks to the sponsorship by the U.S. Department of Education.
